Transforming Op Art Into Agamographs

An 8th grade art lesson where students develop two optical illusions and turn them into a kinetic artwork called an agamograph. Students review elements and principles of design, practice measuring and drawing straight lines with a ruler, and color blending. Next, they deconstruct and reassemble their drawings as an agamograph! A great, two-part lesson that can be adapted for 6th, 7th, 8th graders or higher.

This video demonstrates the combination of a vanishing point illusion and a wavy tube illusion.
